The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) closed the final session of the digest week at 10,392.97 on Oct. 1, 2026, down 47.67 points, or 0.46%, from the prior session's close of 10,440.64. The session moved between a low of 10,357.97 and a high of 10,453.92, according to Saudi Exchange data.

The week's main regulatory development came from the Capital Market Authority, which issued draft provisions requiring Tadawul-listed companies to hold earnings calls twice a year. Under the draft, calls must take place within five business days of the release of financial results, with supporting materials posted immediately on company websites, AGBI reported on Sept. 30.

Corporate activity was led by Arabian Drilling, which signed a four-year rig contract worth approximately SAR 2 billion with Khafji Joint Operations, lifting backlog to a record SAR 18 billion. Elsewhere, the Ninth Commercial Circuit of the Riyadh Commercial Court initiated liquidation proceedings for United Cooperative Assurance (UCA, 8190), following the Insurance Authority's suspension of its underwriting activity earlier in the month. Saudi Exchange also published its Q3 2026 index maintenance, with Chemanol, Armah Sports, and Ladun Investment set to join TASI effective Oct. 4.

Arabian Drilling signs SAR 2B rig contract with KJO

Arabian Drilling signed a four-year contract worth approximately SAR 2 billion ($532.5 million) with Khafji Joint Operations (KJO) covering four high-specification offshore jackup rigs, the company said in a disclosure cited by Argaam on Sept. 29.

The award lifts total backlog to a record SAR 18 billion, Arabian Drilling said. Financial impact from the contract is set to begin at the end of Q4 2026.

KJO operates the offshore Partitioned Neutral Zone shared between the Kingdom and Kuwait on behalf of Aramco Gulf Operations and Kuwait Gulf Oil Co.

Riyadh Commercial Court orders UCA liquidation

The Ninth Commercial Circuit of the Riyadh Commercial Court issued a judgment on Sept. 30, 2026 initiating liquidation proceedings for United Cooperative Assurance Co. (UCA, 8190), according to a filing reported by Mubasher.

CMA had suspended trading in UCA shares effective Sept. 13, 2026. In a separate Tadawul disclosure dated Sept. 24, UCA said the Insurance Authority had suspended the company from issuing or renewing all insurance policies, including individual products and the extended warranty line, effective Sept. 22, 2026.

The sequence of regulatory actions sets the stage for the court-supervised wind-down of the insurer's remaining obligations.

Tadawul announces Q3 2026 index maintenance

Saudi Exchange said it will update free-float shares for all TASI and Nomu-Parallel Market issuers effective at the start of trading on Oct. 4, 2026, Argaam reported on Sept. 29.

Additions to TASI and the Basic Materials Index include Methanol Chemicals Co. (Chemanol). Armah Sports will join TASI and the Consumer Services Index, while Ladun Investment Co. will be added to TASI and the Real Estate Index. Amwaj International and MSGA Investment will enter the Nomu-Parallel Market Capped Index.

Separately, Nomu-listed MOBI filed an application to transfer its shares from the Nomu-Parallel Market to the Main Market.

Chemanol files rights issue for 350M shares

Methanol Chemicals Co. (Chemanol) filed with CMA an application to increase its capital through a rights issue, the company said in a Tadawul disclosure dated Sept. 30, 2026.

The offered volume is 350 million shares, representing 70% of existing capital. The company did not disclose offer pricing in the application notice. The filing comes in the same week Saudi Exchange confirmed Chemanol's inclusion in TASI and the Basic Materials Index as part of Q3 2026 index maintenance.

Masar signs SAR 310.4M land sale agreements in Makkah

Umm Al Qura for Development and Construction Co. (Masar, 4323) signed two land sale agreements within the Masar Destination project in Makkah totaling SAR 310.4 million, according to a Tadawul filing reported by Argaam on Sept. 29.

A separate land sale within the same project valued at SAR 183.7 million was disclosed on the same date. Masar did not identify the counterparties in the published summaries.

In other corporate disclosures during the week, Middle East Specialized Cables Co. (MESC, 1301) renewed SAR 150 million in banking facilities with Al Rajhi Bank, and Zahrat Al Waha for Trading Co. 1830 renewed SAR 80 million in credit facilities with Saudi National Bank (SNB, 1180).

Outlook

United Electronics Co. (eXtra, 4003) will convene an Extraordinary General Meeting on Nov. 4, 2026 to vote on a 2.5 million share buyback. Chemanol's rights-issue application and MOBI's Nomu-to-Main-Market transfer request remain pending with CMA. Saudi Exchange's Q3 2026 index maintenance takes effect at the start of trading on Oct. 4, with Chemanol, Armah Sports, and Ladun Investment added to TASI. Investors will also watch for the completion of Rawasi Albina Investment Co.'s disclosures following its Sept. 30 statement that it is unable to pay due sukuk returns.
